Arctozenus Gill [T. N.] 1864:188 Masc. Paralepis borealis Krøyer in Gaimard 1842 - 1856. Type by original designation (also monotypic). Post 1973:208 suggests in his synonymy that this genus is based on a misidentified type species, with Gill referring to borealis of Krøyer 1847 [ref. 18438] in Gaimard [ref. 1523] (not of Reinhardt 1837).
