Not intended as a new name. From Stony Brook, Mercer Co., New Jersey, near the village of Princeton. •In the synonymy of Aphredoderus sayanus (Gilliams 1824), subspecies sayanus (Gilliams 1824) -- (Poly 2004:3 [ref. 27585]). Current status: Synonym of Aphredoderus sayanus (Gilliams 1824). Aphredoderidae.

cookianus, Aphrodedirus Jordan [D. S.] 1877:60 [Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 29 (pt 1); ref. 2372] Sawyer's Creek, outlet of Long Lake, Kendallville, Indiana, U.S.A. Holotype (unique): whereabouts unknown. Genus should have been spelled Aphredoderus. Genus was spelled Aphredoderus on p. 44 but appeared as Aphrodedirus on subsequent pages. •Synonym of Aphredoderus sayanus (Gilliams 1824), subspecies gibbosus Lesueur 1833 -- (Poly 2004:2, 3 [ref. 27585]). Current status: Synonym of Aphredoderus sayanus (Gilliams 1824). Aphredoderidae. Habitat: freshwater.

Name appeared first as a nomen nudum in Jordan 1877:368 [ref. 2373].
