Plus non-type material. •Valid as Chalceus guaporensis Zanata & Toledo-Piza 2004 -- (Sarmiento et al. 2014:184 [ref. 35004], Careaga et al. 2020:75 [ref. 37774]). Current status: Valid as Chalceus guaporensis Zanata & Toledo-Piza 2004. Chalceidae. Distribution: South America: Guaporé and Mamoré river drainages, Madre de Dios River and Jaci-Paraná River in the upper Madeira River; Rio Beni (Brazil, Bolivia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.

Holotype (unique): ANSP 8150 (caudal damaged). iquitensis, Chalceus macrolepidotus Nakashima [S.] 1941:76, Fig. [Boletín del Museo de Historia Natural "Javier Prado" v. 5 (no. 16); ref. 13189] Surrounds of Iquitos, Amazon system, northeastern Peru. Syntypes: ?MHNJP [= MUSM] (lost). Apparently as a subspecies of Chalceus macrolepidotus Cuvier 1817. •Synonym of Chalceus erythrurus (Cope 1870) -- (Lima in Reis et al. 2003:121 [ref. 27061], Zanata & Toledo-Piza 2004:115 [ref. 27480]). Current status: Synonym of Chalceus erythrurus (Cope 1870). Chalceidae. Habitat: freshwater.

Date apparently 1818, seen as 1816 and 1817. •Valid as Chalceus macrolepidotus Cuvier 1818 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:7 [ref. 9708], Géry et al. 1991:43 [ref. 21021], Planquette et al. 1996:230 [ref. 22818], Lima in Reis et al. 2003:121 [ref. 27061], Zanata & Toledo-Piza 2004:108 [ref. 27480], Mirande 2010:474 [ref. 31006], Sarmiento et al. 2014:184 [ref. 35004], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:65 [ref. 35633], Silvano et al. 2020:73 [ref. 38133], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:20 [ref. 39298], Borstein et al. 2022:16 [ref. 39507]). Habitat: freshwater.

M.] & Toledo-Piza [M.] 2004:121, Figs. 15-17 [Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society v. 140 (no. 1); ref. 27480] Right margin of Rio Tapajós, near Boim, 3°0'S, 55°15'W, Igarapé Jacaré, Pará, Brazil. Holotype: MZUSP 20314. Paratypes: INPA 18589 (3), MZUSP 76069 (42, 1 c&s), UMMZ 239930 (3), USNM 368278 (3). Plus non-type material. •Valid as Chalceus spilogyros Zanata & Toledo-Piza 2004. Current status: Valid as Chalceus spilogyros Zanata & Toledo-Piza 2004. Chalceidae. Distribution: Trombetas River, lower Tapajós River and Canumã River in the Madeira River drainage, Brazil.
