Paratypes: (4) SAM 36076 (1); SAIAB 2423 [ex RUSI 2423] (1), 2424 (1); USNM 203466 (1). Named after a research vessel; it is a noun in apposition. •Valid as Chlamydoselachus africana Ebert & Compagno 2009 -- (Dyldin 2015:44 [ref. 34524], Weigmann 2016:51 [ref. 34211], Compagno 2016:1144 [ref. 34544]). Current status: Valid as Chlamydoselachus africana Ebert & Compagno 2009. Chlamydoselachidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: Angola to Namibia [possibly more widespread]. Habitat: marine.
