Holotype: CAS 76031. Paratypes: UMMZ 209086 (5), 214881-85 (1, 2, 1, 2, 1). •Valid as Aaptosyax grypus Rainboth 1991 -- (Rainboth 1996:81 [ref. 22772], Doi 1997:3 [ref. 22832], Kottelat 2001:36 [ref. 25780], Tomoda 2011:288 [ref. 31453], Taki et al. 2021:84 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Aaptosyax grypus Rainboth 1991. Cyprinidae: Cyprininae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Mekong River basin, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. Habitat: freshwater.
