kelbelbahr, Squalus Fabricius [J. C.] in Niebuhr (ex Forsskål) 1775:x [Descriptiones animalium (Forsskål); ref. 1351] Alexandria, Egypt [erroneous, should be Nile River, Egypt]. No types known. Originally as kelb el bahr, i.e., canis marinus. Not available as species name is not binomial -- (Fricke 2008:9 [ref. 30182]). Based on Salmo dentex (vernacular name Kalb-el-bar, i.e. canis marinus) of Hasselquist 1762:437 [ref. 18250], a rejected work (ICZN Opinion 57).
