Replacement name for Cirrhites fasciatus Cuvier 1829, preoccupied by Cirrhites fasciatus Bennett 1828. •Valid as Amblycirrhitus indicus Fowler 1938 -- (Randall 1963:424 [ref. 3599], Fricke 1999:353 [ref. 24106]). •Synonym of Amblycirrhitus pinos (Mowbray 1927) -- (Randall 2001:870 [ref. 25452] with remarks on locality, Randall & Schultz 2008:15 [ref. 29982]). Current status: Synonym of Amblycirrhitus pinos (Mowbray 1927). Cirrhitidae. Habitat: marine.
