Comm. 6/02). •Valid as Opsanus hildebrandi Breder 1925 -- (Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:171 [ref. 24550]). •Synonym of Amphichthys cryptocentrus (Valenciennes 1837) -- (Ibagón et al. 2011:48 [ref. 31492]). Current status: Synonym of Amphichthys cryptocentrus (Valenciennes 1837). Batrachoididae: Batrachoidinae. Habitat: marine.
