Syntypes: MCZ 10901-02 (3). •Valid as Cynoscion praedatorius (Jordan & Gilbert 1889) -- (Chao in Fischer et al. 1995:1459 [ref. 22830], Chao 2002:12 [ref. 26250], Matamoros et al. 2009:19 [ref. 31241], Parenti 2020:15 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Valid as Cynoscion praedatorius (Jordan & Gilbert 1889). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Costa Rica south to Panama. Habitat: marine.
