Holotype (unique): RMNH 24706. •Synonym of Diplobatis picta Palmer 1950 -- (Fechhelm & McEachran 1984:188 [ref. 5227] as pictus). Current status: Synonym of Diplobatis picta Palmer 1950. Narcinidae. Habitat: marine.

Current status: Valid as Diplobatis picta Palmer 1950. Narcinidae. Distribution: Western central Atlantic: Colombia south to Amazon estuary (Brazil), including southern Caribbean Sea. Habitat: brackish, marine.
