Based on manuscript description by A. M. von Strussenfelt. Also in Strussenfelt 1773:22, Pl. 2, fig. A [ref. 30356] and Strussenfelt 1780:21, pl. 2, fig. A [ref. 30357]. Neotype designated by Fricke 1999:30 [ref. 24101], but withdrawn in Fricke 2000:639 [ref. 24537]. Habitat: marine.
