Secondarily preoccupied in Etmopterus by Spinax niger Cloquet 1816. •Synonym of Etmopterus pusillus (Lowe 1839) -- (Compagno 1984:82 [ref. 6474], Shirai & Tachikawa 1993:483 [ref. 20599], Biscoito et al. 2018:473 [ref. 37562]). Current status: Synonym of Etmopterus pusillus (Lowe 1839). Etmopteridae. Habitat: marine.
