Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:97 [ref. 13621]. At one time, secondarily preoccupied in Fundulus by Hydrargyra multifasciata Lesueur 1817 and replaced by Fundulus xenicus Jordan & Gilbert 1882. The name Adinia xenica is in current use by most authors and should be retained (see Art. 59.3), with Adinia multifasciata in synonymy.
