Holotype (unique): SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 49. •Synonym of Gephyroberyx darwinii (Johnson 1866) -- (Heemstra 1986:410 [ref. 5660], Kotlyar 1996:124 [ref. 23292], Kim et al. 2004:10 [ref. 27746]). Current status: Synonym of Gephyroberyx darwinii (Johnson 1866). Trachichthyidae. Habitat: marine.

W.] 1938:38, Fig. 11 [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 85 (no. 3032); ref. 1426] Off Point Tagolo Light, northern Mindanao, Philippines, 8°46'N, 123°32'30"E, Albatross station D.5516, depth 175 fathoms. Holotype: USNM 93345. Paratypes: USNM 93401 (7). •Valid as Gephyroberyx philippinus Fowler 1938 -- (Moore & Paxton 1999:2217 [ref. 24787]). •Synonym of Gephyroberyx darwinii (Johnson 1866) -- (Kotlyar 1996:124 [ref. 23292] as darwini, Konishi 1999:62 [ref. 24259] with question, Kotlyar, pers. comm., 3/03, Kim et al. 2004:10 [ref. 27746]). Current status: Synonym of Gephyroberyx darwinii (Johnson 1866). Trachichthyidae. Habitat: marine.
