Paratypes: KPM-NI 16810 (1), NSMT-P 78774 [ex KPM-NI 16809] (1). •Valid as Guentherus katoi Senou, Kuwayama & Hirate 2008. Current status: Valid as Guentherus katoi Senou, Kuwayama & Hirate 2008. Ateleopodidae. Distribution: Kume-jima Island, the Ryukyu Islands, and the Kumanonada Sea, southern Japan. Habitat: marine.
