Published July 1860. •Valid as Liopropoma aberrans (Poey 1860) -- (Randall & Taylor 1988:2 [ref. 6429], Cervigón 1992:434 [ref. 23827], Heemstra et al. 2003:1326 [ref. 27060], Wirtz & Schliewen 2012:151 [ref. 32169], Page et al. 2013:132 [ref. 32708], Baldwin & Johnson 2014:7 [ref. 33312], Baldwin & Robertson 2014:75 [ref. 33311], Parenti & Randall 2020:104 [ref. 37354], Carvalho-Filho 2023:123 [ref. 40480], Esmaeili et al. 2023:220 [ref. 40327]). Current status: Valid as Liopropoma aberrans (Poey 1860). Liopropomatidae: Liopropomatinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Bahamas and Cuba south to Espirito Santo (Brazil), including Gulf of Mexico. Habitat: marine.
