Paratypes: (3) not found at AMNH. •Synonym of Lophogobius cyprinoides (Pallas 1770) -- (Dawson 1972:380 [ref. 35161]). •Valid as Lophogobius androsensis Breder 1932 -- (Thacker & Cole 2002:838 [ref. 26548], Parenti 2021:193 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Synonym of Lophogobius cyprinoides (Pallas 1770). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.

cristagalli, Gobius Valenciennes [A.] in Cuvier & Valenciennes 1837:130 [Histoire naturelle des poissons v. 12; ref. 1006] Havana, Cuba. Holotype (unique): MNHN A-1403. Type catalog: Bauchot et al. 1991:30 [ref. 19958] as cristi galli. Originally as crista galli. •Synonym of Lophogobius cyprinoides (Pallas 1770) -- (Koumans 1937:xx [ref. 2675], Akihito & Meguro 2000:xxx [ref. 24803], Parenti 2021:193 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Synonym of Lophogobius cyprinoides (Pallas 1770). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.

cristulatus, Lophogobius Ginsburg [I.] 1939:52 [Journal of the Washington Academy of Sciences v. 29 (no. 2); ref. 12362] Pacific coast of Panama (probably on Farfan Beach near Balboa). Holotype (unique): USNM 107294. •Valid as Lophogobius cristulatus Ginsburg 1939 -- (Dawson 1972:372 [ref. 35161], Hoese in Fischer et al. 1995:1135 [ref. 22829], Thacker & Cole 2002:838 [ref. 26548], Van Tassell 2011:141, 144 [ref. 31732], Angulo et al. 2013:1009 [ref. 33194], Parenti 2021:193 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Lophogobius cristulatus Ginsburg 1939. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Costa Rica, Panama. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
