Paratypes: AMS I.19289-004 (1), I.19290-002 (1), I.19293-001 (1, c&s); NTM S.10031-148 (1); CSIRO CA 2879 (1). •Valid as Lumiconger arafura Castle & Paxton 1984 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:142 [ref. 12442], Smith 1999:1686 [ref. 24661], Hutchins 2001:17 [ref. 25847], Hoese & Gates 2006:296 [ref. 28997], Larson et al. 2013:29 [ref. 32988]). Current status: Valid as Lumiconger arafura Castle & Paxton 1984. Congridae: Congrinae. Distribution: Australia and Timor and Arafura seas. Habitat: marine.
