Paratypes: (108) Deposited at AMNH, ANSP, CAS, SIO, UF, UMMZ, USNM. •Valid as Opistognathus robinsi Smith-Vaniz 1997 -- (Smith-Vaniz 2003:1378 [ref. 27083], Nelson et al. 2004:130 [ref. 27807], McEachran & Fechhelm 2005:209 [ref. 28815], Page et al. 2013:134 [ref. 32708]). Current status: Valid as Opistognathus robinsi Smith-Vaniz 1997. Opistognathidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
