(1). •Valid as Parasphyraenops atrimanus Bean 1912 -- (Johnson & Smith-Vaniz 1987:49 [ref. 9235], Smith-Vaniz et al. 1999:216 [ref. 25013], Heemstra et al. 2003:1327 [ref. 27060], Smith-Vaniz & Collette 2013:172 [ref. 32953], Parenti & Randall 2020:121 [ref. 37354]). Current status: Valid as Parasphyraenops atrimanus Bean 1912. Serranidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Bermuda and Venezuela. Habitat: marine.
