Current status: Valid as Pinnichthys aimoriensis Van Tassell & Tornabene 2016. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: eastern Caribbean off Sint Eustatius, southern Caribbean off Bonaire and margin of the continental shelf of Brazil off Espírito Santo. Habitat: marine. atrimelum, Chriolepis Bussing [W. A.] 1997:1548, Figs. 1-2 [Revista de Biología Tropical v. 45 (no. 4); ref. 23500] Isla del Coco, 2.6 kilometers west-northwest of Punta Gissler, 5°33'30"N, 87°05'50"W, depth 137-146 meters. Holotype (unique): LACM 32264-10. Chriolepis is feminine, so the species epithet is apparently an indeclinable noun. •Valid as Chriolepis atrimelum Bussing 1997 -- (Thomson et al. 2000:244 [ref. 25640], Van Tassell 2011:151 [ref. 31732], Hastings & Findley 2013:600 [ref. 33005], Tornabene et al. 2016:13 [ref. 34435] as atrimela). •Valid as Pinnichthys atrimelum (Bussing 1997) -- (Tornabene et al. 2016:14 [ref. 34435] as atrimela, Fuentes et al. 2023:176 [ref. 40497] as atrimela). Current status: Valid as Pinnichthys atrimelum (Bussing 1997). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Cocos Island. Habitat: marine. bilix, Chriolepis Hastings [P. A.] & Findley [L. T.] 2013:597, Figs. 1-3 [Zootaxa 3745 (no. 5); ref. 33005] Northern edge of Little Bahama Bank, 27°26'N, 78°57'W, tumbler dredge, depth 138 meters. Holotype: USNM 199058. Paratypes: 43554 (1), 214492 (1), 214493 (1). •Valid as Chriolepis bilix Hastings & Findley 2013 -- (Hastings & Findley 2015:594 [ref. 33639]). •Valid as Pinnichthys bilix (Hastings & Findley 2013) -- (Tornabene et al. 2016:13 [ref. 34435], Fuentes et al. 2023:176 [ref. 40497]). Current status: Valid as Pinnichthys bilix (Hastings & Findley 2013). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. Plus non-type material. •Valid as Chriolepis prolata Hastings & Findley 2015. •Valid as Pinnichthys prolata (Hastings & Findley 2015) -- (Tornabene et al. 2016:13 [ref. 34435], Fuentes et al. 2023:176 [ref. 40497]). Current status: Valid as Pinnichthys prolata (Hastings & Findley 2015). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: northeastern Gulf of Mexico and off South Carolina, U.S.A. Habitat: marine. saurimimica, Pinnichthys Van Tassell [J. L.] & Tornabene [L.] in Tornabene, Van Tassell, Gilmore, Robertson, Young & Baldwin 2016:22, Figs. 13-16 [Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society v. 177 (no. 4); ref. 34435] Cockburn Town, Riding Rock, San Salvador, Bahamas, 24.04833N, -74.5375W, depth 282 meters. Holotype (unique): USNM 427228. •Valid as Pinnichthys saurimimica Van Tassell & Tornabene 2016 -- (Fuentes et al. 2023:176 [ref. 40497]).
