Paratypes: UF 216164 [ex UMML 16164] (1). •Valid as Pontinus helena Eschmeyer 1965 -- (Eschmeyer 1969:25 [ref. 1274], Uyeno & Sato in Uyeno et al. 1983:430 [ref. 14275], Cervigón 1992:421 [ref. 23827], Poss & Eschmeyer 2003:1246 [ref. 27048]). Current status: Valid as Pontinus helena Eschmeyer 1965. Scorpaenidae: Scorpaeninae. Distribution: Western Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
