Holotype: SAIAB 191528. Paratypes: MRAC, SAIAB. Erroneously appeared as Pseudocrenilabrus mweruensis on pp. 187, 188 of the original description. •Valid as Pseudocrenilabrus pyrrhocaudalis Katongo, Seehausen & Snoeks 2017. Current status: Valid as Pseudocrenilabrus pyrrhocaudalis Katongo, Seehausen & Snoeks 2017. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Lake Mweru, West Africa. Habitat: freshwater.

Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Paratilapia ventralis Boulenger 1898. •Synonym of Pseudocrenilabrus nicholsi (Pellegrin 1928) -- (Schindler 1989:124 [ref. 17339], Skelton 1991:398 [ref. 20950]). 1°Homonym. victoriae, Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor Seegers [L.] 1990:100, Figs. 1-6 [Die Aquarien- und Terrarienzeitschrift (DATZ) v. 43 (no. 2); ref. 17728] Kampala-Makasa road, southwest of Mpugwe (0°36'N, 31°41'E), Masaka District, southwestern Uganda. Holotype: ZFMK 16252. Paratypes: SMF 23436-37 (3, 5); ZFMK 13885-95 (10), 15313 (1), 16253-55 (3), 16265-71 (8); ZMB 32034-35 (2, 2). Additional material: ZFMK 13879-84 (6). Type catalog: Herder et al. 2010:130 [ref. 31087]. •Synonym of Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor (Schöller 1903), but a valid subspecies victoriae as described -- (Skelton 1991:398 [ref. 20950], Seegers et al. 2003:45 [ref. 28087], Katongo et al. 2017:181 [ref. 35163]).
