Holotype (unique): USNM 46760. Type catalog: Smith 1994:33 [ref. 21917]. •Mention -- (McCosker 1977:60 [ref. 6836]). •Valid as Myrophis frio Jordan & Davis 1891 -- (Andreata & Séret 1996:582 [ref. 16204] dated 1892). •Valid as Pseudomyrophis frio (Jordan & Davis 1891) -- (McCosker et al. 1989:290 [ref. 13288], Leiby in Smith 1989:770 [ref. 13285], Schmitter-Soto et al. 2000:149 [ref. 27754], McCosker 2003:733 [ref. 26993], Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:35 [ref. 27192], Pinheiro et al. 2015:7 [ref. 34324], Carvalho-Filho 2023:60 [ref. 40480]).
