Holotype: UMMZ 106459 (descendant of aquarium stock). Paratypes: UMMZ 102075 (4), 106458 (4), 106460 (56, 5 c&s), 106461 (6); USNM 93936 (2), 108251 (1), 117597 (2). Type catalog: Parenti et al. 1999:18 [ref. 24072], Faloh-Gandarilla et al. 2016:6 [ref. 35177]. •Valid as Quintana atrizona Hubbs 1934 -- (Rosen & Bailey 1963:114 [ref. 7067], Lee et al. 1983:51 [ref. 22527], Parenti et al. 1999:18 [ref. 24072], Lucinda in Reis et al. 2003:572 [ref. 27061], Lucinda & Reis 2005:44 [ref. 29205], Meyer 2015:349 [ref. 34698], Faloh-Gandarilla et al. 2016:6 [ref. 35177], Huber 2019:139 [ref. 36941]). Current status: Valid as Quintana atrizona Hubbs 1934. Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: Western Cuba and Isle of Pines. Habitat: freshwater.
