Holotype: MOBR-EDIMAY-P-3402 [ex MNNLS 873]. Paratypes: (3) MCZ 40391 (1), 42989 (1). Type catalog: Lasso et al. 1999:108 [ref. 33859]. •Valid in an unnamed new genus -- (Compagno 1999:493 [ref. 25589]). •Valid as Raja cervigoni Bigelow & Schroeder 1964 -- (Cervigón 1992:206 [ref. 23827], McEachran & Dunn 1998:286 [ref. 23312], Cervigón & Alcalá 1999:169 [ref. 24490], McEachran & Carvalho 2003:560 [ref. 26985], Weigmann 2016:118 [ref. 34211]). •Valid as Rostroraja cervigoni (Bigelow & Schroeder 1964) -- (Last et al. 2016:24 [ref. 34941] with question, Last et al. 2016:354 [ref. 35000], Ehemann et al. 2019:[6] [ref. 36861]). Current status: Valid as Rostroraja cervigoni (Bigelow & Schroeder 1964). Rajidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Venezuela to Suriname (including southern Caribbean Sea). Habitat: marine.
