Paratypes: AMS IA.590 (2). •Valid as Scalanago lateralis Whitley 1935 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:143 [ref. 12442], Gomon et al. 1994:215 [ref. 22532], Hutchins 2001:17 [ref. 25847], Hoese & Gates 2006:297 [ref. 28997], Smith 2008:179 [ref. 30621], Smith & Stewart 2015:283 [ref. 34234]). Current status: Valid as Scalanago lateralis Whitley 1935. Congridae: Congrinae. Distribution: Australia and New Zealand. Habitat: marine.
