Type catalog: Bauchot & Blanc 1961:372-373 [ref. 20733], Blanc & Bauchot 1964:448, Fig. 18 [ref. 20804], Collette & Russo 1984:669 [ref. 5221], and Collette 1966:367 [ref. 14641] as holotype and paratype. Technicially there were syntypes although the primary description was based mostly on A.6871 (which was designated lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:1704 [ref. 23416]).
