Holotype (unique): MHNLS 3052 [not MHNLS 7717, ex. AFY 149]. Type catalog: Lasso et al. 1997:41 [ref. 23639]. Species epithet appeared in original description as fernándezi. •Synonym of Scyliorhinus haeckelii (Miranda Ribeiro 1907) -- (Compagno 1984:362 [ref. 6846], Soares et al. 2016:513 [ref. 34158]). •Synonym of Scyliorhinus boa Goode & Bean 1896 -- (Soares & Carvalho 2019:9 [ref. 36701]).
