Current status: Valid as Sphoeroides greeleyi Gilbert 1900. Tetraodontidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Mexico south to Santa Catarina (Brazil), including southern Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Habitat: brackish, marine.
