alii, Squaliolus Teng [H.-T.] 1959:1, Pl. 1 [Report - Laboratory of Fishery Biology, Taiwan Fisheries Research Institute No. 8; ref. 9074] Off Tungkang [Tongkang], Kao-Hsiung Prefecture, Taiwan, depth about 180 fathoms. Holotype (unique): TFRI 3837. Type catalog: Ho & Shao 2011:19 [ref. 31432]. Species was named after a woman (Teng's wife), and the name would have been formed as aliae or alae; however, original name was not given, aliae apparently correct.
