Holotype (unique): ANSP 93812. Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:67 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Symphurus rhytisma Böhlke 1961 -- (de Lema & de Oliveira 1977:5 [ref. 7244], Munroe 1998:34 [ref. 23285], Munroe 2003:1956 [ref. 27118], Menezes & Figueiredo in Menezes et al. 2003:108 [ref. 27192], Smith et al. 2003:69 [ref. 27621]). Current status: Valid as Symphurus rhytisma Böhlke 1961. Cynoglossidae: Symphurinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
