Holotype (unique): USNM 434796. •Valid as Varicus lacerta Tornabene, Robertson & Baldwin 2016 -- (Tornabene & Baldwin 2019:200 [ref. 36806], Fuentes et al. 2023:168 [ref. 40497]). Current status: Valid as Varicus lacerta Tornabene, Robertson & Baldwin 2016. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Curaçao. Habitat: marine.
