Holotype: ANSP 111752. Paratypes: USNM 198009 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:20 [ref. 13621] as anisolepsis. •Synonym of Apogon evermanni Jordan & Snyder 1904 -- (Randall & Böhlke 1981:131 [ref. 8562], Hayashi et al. 1992:3 [ref. 24311], Randall 1998:32 [ref. 23433]). •Synonym of Zapogon evermanni (Jordan & Snyder 1904) -- (Randall 2007:216 [ref. 30952]). Current status: Synonym of Zapogon evermanni (Jordan & Snyder 1904). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Habitat: marine.

Current status: Valid as Zapogon isus (Randall & Böhlke 1981). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Red Sea; northwestern Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden. Habitat: marine.
