Paratypes: UMMZ 187448 (44, 3 c&s). Other material (97 specimens): TNHC 7195-7197, 7199, 7201-7207 and 7212; also UMMZ 65250 (2); plus hybrids. •Valid as Gambusia georgei Hubbs & Peden 1969 -- (Lee et al. 1980:542 [ref. 22416], Rauchenberger 1989:3 [ref. 15687], Garrett & Edwards 2003:783 [ref. 27258], Nelson et al. 2004:103 [ref. 27807], Lucinda & Reis 2005:41 [ref. 29205], Scharpf 2007:17 [ref. 30398], Meyer et al. 2010:13 [ref. 30817], Page & Burr 2011:448 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:109 [ref. 32708], Meyer 2015:70 [ref. 34698], Huber 2019:63 [ref. 36941]). Current status: Valid as Gambusia georgei Hubbs & Peden 1969. Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: San Marcos Spring and river, Texas, U.S.A. [probably extinct]. Habitat: freshwater.
