Holotype: USNM 216680. Paratypes: MZN 10477 (1). •Valid as Siganus magnificus (Burgess 1977) -- (Woodland 1990:107 [ref. 19220], Myers 1999:268 [ref. 23965], Kuiter & Debelius 2001:179 [ref. 26232], Allen & Adrim 2003:62 [ref. 26830], Kimura in Kimura & Matsuura 2009:298 [ref. 31172], Allen & Erdmann 2012:1010 [ref. 31980]). Current status: Valid as Siganus magnificus (Burgess 1977). Siganidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: Andaman Sea and Myanmar. Habitat: marine.
