Current status: Valid as Acroteriobatus annulatus (Smith 1841). Rhinobatidae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic, southwestern Indian Ocean: Angola south to Cape of Good Hope (South Africa), then north to KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) and southern Mozambique. Habitat: brackish, marine.
