diplotaenia, Breviraja Ishiyama [R.] 1952:15, Pl. 2; Fig. 5 [Journal of the Shimonoseki College of Fisheries v. 2 (no. 2); ref. 2307] Hokkaido, Japan. Holotype: FAKU 49463 [R. Ishiyama No. 10886]. Paratypes: (31) CAS 23111-13 (1, 1, 1). The egg case was described in Ishiyama 1950:36 [ref. 18327] as Raja diplotaenia, but no distinguishing features were presented. •Valid as Rhinoraja diplotaenia (Ishiyama 1952) -- (Dolganov 1999:429 [ref. 24873], Parin et al. 2014:31 [ref. 33547]). •Valid as Bathyraja diplotaenia (Ishiyama 1952) -- (Nakaya in Amaoka et al. 1983:55, 168, 221, 310 [ref. 8379], Nakaya in Masuda et al. 1984:14 [ref. 6441], Stehmann 1986:263 [ref. 6151], McEachran & Dunn 1998:286 [ref. 23312], Compagno 1999:488 [ref. 25589], Nakabo 2000:168 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:168 [ref. 26001], Stevenson et al. 2004:312 [ref. 27688], Dyldin 2015:63 [ref. 34524], Weigmann 2016:91 [ref. 34211], Last et al. 2016:25 [ref. 34941], Last et al. 2016:381 [ref. 35005], Dyldin & Orlov 2018:169 [ref. 35920], Dyldin & Orlov 2021:58 [ref. 38158]). Current status: Valid as Bathyraja diplotaenia (Ishiyama 1952). Arhynchobatidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Sea of Okhotsk and waters of Hokkaido, Japan. Habitat: marine.
