Lectotype selected by Stiassny 1989:115 [ref. 20088]. •Valid as Tylochromis polylepis (Boulenger 1900) -- (Stiassny 1989:115 [ref. 20088], Stiassny 1991:530 [ref. 20964], Poll & Gosse 1995:233 [ref. 24781], De Vos et al. 2001:130 [ref. 26059], Kullander & Roberts 2012:358, 362 [ref. 31751], Konings 2015:235 [ref. 34660], Konings 2019:249 [ref. 36983]). Current status: Valid as Tylochromis polylepis (Boulenger 1900). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Tanganyika and Lukuga River basin. Habitat: freshwater.
