Syntypes: (2) whereabouts unknown. •Valid as Cruriraja durbanensis (von Bonde & Swart 1923) -- (Hulley 1986:116 [ref. 5672], Compagno et al. 1991:91 [ref. 21083], Stehmann 1995:103 [ref. 22055], McEachran & Dunn 1998:285 [ref. 23312], Compagno 1999:493 [ref. 25589], Compagno & Ebert 2007:141 [ref. 30471], Aschliman et al. 2010:370 [ref. 30970], Weigmann 2016:127 [ref. 34211], Last et al. 2016:29 [ref. 34941], Weigmann et al. 2016:478 [ref. 35006], Vinu et al. 2017:598 [ref. 36470], Almeida & Biscoito 2019:164 [ref. 37302], Ebert et al. 2021:88 [ref. 38234]). Current status: Valid as Cruriraja durbanensis (von Bonde & Swart 1923). Gurgesiellidae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic: off western South Africa. Habitat: marine.
