Paratypes: SRS/ZSI F.3509 (3). •Valid as Crossocheilus periyarensis Menon & Jacob 1996 -- (Zacharias et al. 1996:40 [ref. 25526], Menon 1999:142 [ref. 24904], see Kottelat & Tan 2011:195 [ref. 31486], Bleher 2018:384 [ref. 36647]). •Valid as Gonorhynchus periyarensis (Menon & Jacob 1996) -- (Ciccotto & Page 2016:489 [ref. 34501]). •Valid as Tariqilabeo periyarensis (Menon & Jacob 1996). Current status: Valid as Tariqilabeo periyarensis (Menon & Jacob 1996). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: Periyar River, India. Habitat: freshwater.
