V.] 1997:2, Fig. [Buntbarsche Bulletin No. 180 (for June 1997); ref. 23115] Río Cocolis, tributary of Río Sixaola, 3.5 kilometers southeast of Shiroles, on Bratsí-Shiroles road, Limón Province, Costa Rica. Holotype: AMNH 59077. Paratypes: AMNH 59078 (9); LACM 44988-1 (20), 44989-1 (20); UCR 1299-9 (10); UMMZ 217738 (10). Type catalog: Angulo et al. 2015:367 [ref. 35212]. •Valid as Astatheros bussingi (Loiselle 1997) -- (Bussing 1998:324 [ref. 24179]). •Valid as Amphilophus bussingi Loiselle 1997 -- (Burgess 2000:54 [ref. 24818], Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:610 [ref. 27061], Angulo et al. 2013:1004 [ref. 33194]). •Valid as Cribroheros bussingi (Loiselle 1997) -- (Říčan et al. 2016:23 [ref. 34357]). Current status: Valid as Cribroheros bussingi (Loiselle 1997). Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: Atlantic slope of Costa Rica and Panama. Habitat: freshwater.
