Types lost in 1945 (Kamohara 1961:1 [ref. 19282]). Neotype designated by Kamohara 1961:1 [ref. 19282] [but not in a revisory work], so this designation not accepted but again designated by Goto & Nakaya 1996:205 [ref. 22429]. •Valid as Cirrhoscyllium japonicum Kamohara 1943 -- (Compagno 1984:169 [ref. 6474], Nakaya & Shirai in Masuda et al. 1984:8 [ref. 6441], Goto et al. 1994:167 [ref. 22834], Goto & Nakaya 1996:200 [ref. 22429], Compagno 1999:476 [ref. 25589], Nakabo 2000:118 [ref. 25086], Goto 2001:80 [ref. 25912], Shinohara et al. 2001:286 [ref. 25995], Compagno 2001:135 [ref. 26323], Nakabo 2002:118 [ref. 26001], Weigmann 2016:11 [ref. 34211]). Current status: Valid as Cirrhoscyllium japonicum Kamohara 1943. Parascylliidae. Distribution: Western North Pacific: Japan. Habitat: marine.
