Holotype (unique): BMNH 1921.3.1.2. •Valid as Cephaloscyllium sufflans (Regan 1921) -- (Compagno 1984:302 [ref. 6846], Bass 1986:89 [ref. 5635], Gubanov & Timoxin 1989:221 [ref. 36138], Compagno 1999:479 [ref. 25589], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S91 [ref. 27377], Inoue & Nakaya 2006:86 [ref. 28852], Akhilesh et al. 2014:4 [ref. 33217], Weigmann 2016:38 [ref. 34211], Fricke et al. 2018:10 [ref. 35805], Soares & Carvalho 2020:379 [ref. 37593], Ebert et al. 2021:52 [ref. 38234], Human & Ebert 2022:489 [ref. 39666]). Current status: Valid as Cephaloscyllium sufflans (Regan 1921). Scyliorhinidae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) north to Mozambique, including Comoros and Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
