Holotype: MZUSP 81026. Paratypes: MCP 35007 (3), MZUSP 81025 (22, 4 c&s). •Valid as Myxiops aphos Zanata & Akama 2004 -- (Menezes & Marinho 2019:12 [ref. 36822], Silva et al. 2020:6 [ref. 37809]). •Valid as Deuterodon aphos (Zanata & Akama 2004) -- (Terán et al. 2020:7 [ref. 37440]). Current status: Valid as Deuterodon aphos (Zanata & Akama 2004). Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: Lençóis River drainage (Bahia State, Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
