Holotype: USNM 225574. Paratypes: USNM 225216 (1), 225575 (1), 388849 (1). Plus non-type specimens. •Valid as Potamotrygon boesemani Rosa, Carvalho & Almeida Wanderley 2008 -- (Carvalho et al. 2011:26 [ref. 31264], Fontenelle et al. 2014:341 [ref. 33180], Weigmann 2016:154 [ref. 34211], Carvalho 2016:562 [ref. 34666], Carvalho 2016:6 [ref. 34730], Carvalho 2016:629 [ref. 34997]). Current status: Valid as Potamotrygon boesemani Rosa, Carvalho & Almeida Wanderley 2008. Potamotrygonidae: Potamotrygoninae. Distribution: Corantijn River drainage, Suriname. Habitat: freshwater.
