Paratypes: SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 8344 [ex ORI B187] (1). •Valid as Anacanthobatis ori (Wallace 1967) -- (Hulley 1986:128 [ref. 5672], Séret 1986:256 [ref. 6753], Séret 1986:322 [ref. 6753], McEachran & Dunn 1998:285 [ref. 23312], Compagno 1999:493 [ref. 25589], Compagno & Ebert 2007:141 [ref. 30471]). •Valid as Indobatis ori (Wallace 1967) -- (Weigmann et al. 2014:104 [ref. 33204], Weigmann 2016:125 [ref. 34211], Weigmann & Stehmann 2016:495 [ref. 34541], Last et al. 2016:29 [ref. 34941], Séret et al. 2016:497 [ref. 35007], Fricke et al. 2018:25 [ref. 35805]). Current status: Valid as Indobatis ori (Wallace 1967). Anacanthobatidae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: Mozambique to Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
