Changed to alfredianus on the "Avis au relieur" found at the end of the volume and on p. xvi (on which p. 77 and Pl. 488 are cited) and Pl. 488 •Synonym of Osteobrama vigorsii (Sykes 1839) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:242 [ref. 20764]). •Synonym of Osteobrama cotio (Hamilton 1822), subspecies cunma (Day 1888) -- (Menon 1999:65 [ref. 24904] as alfrediana). •Valid as Osteobrama alfredianus (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Doi 1997:9 [ref. 22832] as alfrediana). Current status: Valid as Osteobrama alfredianus (Valenciennes 1844). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia. Habitat: freshwater.

cunma, Rohtee Day [F.] (ex Tickell) 1888:807 [The fishes of India Suppl.; ref. 1082] Moulmein, Myanmar. No types known. Type catalog: Whitehead & Talwar 1976:155 [ref. 23762]. We assume Day revised the description in his style and may have taken information from the figure rather than quoting directly from Tickell. •Synonym of Osteobrama cotio (Hamilton 1822), but a valid subspecies -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:239 [ref. 20764], Menon 1999:65 [ref. 24904], Biju et al. 1999:481 [ref. 25439], Karmakar 2000:28 [ref. 25662], Vishwanath & Shanta Kumar 2007:2882 [ref. 29365], Jadhav et al. 2011:2080 [ref. 31547]). •Valid as Osteobrama cunma (Day 1888) -- (Kottelat 2013:134 [ref. 32989], Maisnam et al. 2017:13 [ref. 35689], Dhanze & Dhanze 2018:476 [ref. 36414], Rahman et al. 2018:116 [ref. 36230], Singh et al. 2018:362 [ref. 35172], Ren et al. 2020:[5] [ref. 37805], Shangningam et al. 2020:74 [ref. 37247]). Current status: Valid as Osteobrama cunma (Day 1888). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: South Asia: Chindwin River drainage (Manipur) and Barak River drainage (Tripura, India) and Chindwin and Irrawaddy basins (Myanmar); possibly Bangladesh. Habitat: freshwater.
