Paratypes: CAS-SU 8662 (2), USNM 61170 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:87 [ref. 12291]. Fowler and Bean (1928:428) record an inland record from the Philippines; needs conformation according to Kottelat 2013. •Synonym of Scarus dimidiatus Bleeker 1859 -- (Choat & Randall 1986:203 [ref. 8099], Parenti & Randall 2000:55 [ref. 24943], Kottelat 2013:382 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Scarus dimidiatus Bleeker 1859. Labridae. Habitat: marine.
