Holotype 5515 and paratype 5516 are in same jar and not distinguished. For this reason both specimens were included.
samoensis, Hypleurochilus Seale [A.] 1935:374, Pl. 23 (fig. 3) [Proceedings of the California Academy of Sciences (Series 4) v. 21 (no. 27); ref. 12336] Pago Pago, Tutuila Island, American Samoa. Holotype: CAS 5515. Paratypes: CAS 5516 (1). •Questionably a synonym of Parenchelyurus hepburni (Snyder 1908) -- (Springer 1972:12 [ref. 4178]). •Questionably a synonym of Omobranchus rotundiceps (Macleay 1881) -- (Springer & Gomon 1975:68 [ref. 6083]). Current status: Uncertain as Omobranchus rotundiceps (Macleay 1881). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Habitat: marine.
